Total number of Pregnant and Lactating Women with infants below age of 0 to 5 months surveyed
Indicator used for response monitoring ?
There are NO agreed international Cut off points for MUAC for PLW so National MUAC cut off points may vary, If available/possible, use representative survey, if not - rapid nutrition assessment with smaller number of PLW can give you some idea of the situation
Guidance on phases
Population-based surveys with representative sampling methods (MICS, DHS, SMART) or rapid nutrition assessment
PLW may be a problematic to define and identify, SMART surveys provide data for women with children, so definition of lactating should be mothers with infants 0-5 months; caution on excluding women in first pregnancy
